What is the history of New Bridge Foreign Basket?
Deng Fushou was born in the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty and originally from Xinjiang Village in Maan Town. When he was young, he moved with his parents to Xinqiao Wei, where bamboo weaving was a traditional craft. Deng Fushou learned the technique of bamboo weaving in this environment and often used his self-woven bamboo baskets to sell goods. Jiangmen merchants often came to Xinqiao to purchase bamboo weaving products for export overseas. Once, the owner of the Hengxingshan cargo store in Jiangmen, Ye Xingguang, spotted Deng Fushou's unique bamboo basket and purchased it in bulk to bring it back to Jiangmen, where it was highly praised by foreign merchants. Afterwards, Ye invited Deng to Jiangmen to establish a specialized factory, recruit apprentices, and implement mass production.
